Gray and chilly

All of a sudden, there is a chill in the air. It's cloudy and breezy this morning, with light rain predicted for late this afternoon and maybe tomorrow morning. We need the rain, but we have gotten used to very warm weather.

These are some photos from warmer days. I'm just going to bide my time and wait for the hot weather to come back. Hope I don't have to wait a year!

  1. Ken, that second picture of the flower is incredible! What power optical zoom do you have on that camera? It's amazing!

Okay... now, here they are forecasting upper 90s every day for the next 4 days... yikes yikes yikes.
Weather is so goofy sometimes. When I was in France in the summer of, I think, 2004 or 2005 it was soooooo cool and rainy during that period of 2 weeks (like the 50s during the day!) even the French women in our group were amazed by the weather :) I wonder if it used to fluctuate so frequently and so drastically in the past. I'm pretty sure that my visit was the summer after the big canicule summer in France.

  2. We used to call those flowers: "Il m'aime. Il m'aime pas" and pull each petal hoping the last one would be "Il m'aime". But I wouldn't pick up une marguerite when a beautiful butterfly is resting on its heart.

I couln't access your site yesterday (and three others). I'm glad I'm here this morning to tell you that your escargot was very interesting to look at. I've never seen one that close. I would never eat one. Maybe this insect (called mollusk)is a delicacy but I have a primal fear of bibittes. My tongue would refuse anyone of them, even cooked in wine (of hidden under ketchup)!

  4. Hi Judy, my camera, a Panasonic Lumix TZ3, has a 10x optical zoom. But it goes up to 15x when I put the camera in a lower megapixel mode, like 3 megapixels instead of 7. I don't really understand how it works, but I love the camera.
